Saturday 10th Feb Andreas birthday

Hello everyone! It has been quite a pleasant day down here. We (me and my husband) went to the allotment, it is surprising how much you can find to do, when you think there is nothing! Two hours later, we went home. Still hopefully the guttering will effectively collect water now, and the birds will not be able to eat my purple sprouting broccolli! I am just itching to get sowing, and eagerly watch other allotmenteers to see what they are doing. I see the usual broad beans ( I dont think I like these) onions, already in. garlic, already in, early peas, already in,(the greenhouse!) Still wont be long. Look out 2007 here I come!9 Any tips gratefully recieved0

I was just saying to someone the other day that until I grew my own, I hated runner beans and broad beans. The real thing, picked young is just out of this world! please give broad beans another try! Thanks for visiting.

Wow, there's not that many miles between Dorset and Derbyshire, but you're way ahead of us in planting! Mind you, we're not helped by the vast quantities of snow over everything at the moment!
Matron is right, broad beans freshly picked are the food of the gods, especially when drizzled with chillie flavoured olive oil...!

Hello,
Noticed you on my Journey through Alz. blog and wanted to say hi and thanks so much for visiting.

I am enjoying your blog. Don't garden anymore.... no time, no energy but we have gardened in the past. Nothing like home-grown veggies.
